Editorial Standards and Content Methodology

Dreamosaic publishes two kinds of content: the Dream Library, which contains editorial articles about dream symbols, and AI-generated interpretations, which are produced on demand when a user describes a dream. This page explains how we create, review, and maintain both.

We believe that transparency about how content is produced is essential for trust. If you have questions about our process or want to suggest a correction, please contact us.

Our Editorial Mission

Dreamosaic exists to help people explore their dreams through multiple cultural, religious, historical, and psychological perspectives. We do not claim that any single interpretation is the correct one. Instead, we present different lenses so users can compare, reflect, and decide for themselves.

Our editorial content is written for general readers who are curious about dream symbolism. It is not intended as professional medical, psychological, or religious advice.

How Dream Library Articles Are Created

Each Dream Library article follows a consistent structure:

  • Starting with the symbol. We begin with a common dream image, such as a snake, water, or falling, and explore why it appears frequently in dreams across cultures.
  • Emotional context first. Before discussing cultural or psychological symbolism, we emphasize that the dreamer's emotional experience and the specific details of the dream matter more than the symbol in isolation.
  • Multiple perspectives. We examine the symbol through emotional, psychological, cultural, and where relevant, religious lenses. We do not present one perspective as definitive.
  • Questions for reflection. Each article ends with questions the reader can ask themselves, because personal context is more meaningful than a generic dictionary entry.

Articles are written by our editorial team and reviewed before publication. We update articles when we identify errors, when new information becomes available, or when readers submit corrections through our contact form.

Source Attribution and Cultural Sensitivity

When we discuss a specific cultural or religious tradition, we aim to:

  • Distinguish between historical sources, religious teachings, folklore, and modern interpretations rather than presenting them as interchangeable.
  • Acknowledge that within any tradition, scholars and practitioners may disagree.
  • Avoid reducing a living tradition to a set of fixed symbol meanings.
  • Note where a tradition has internal diversity rather than presenting it as monolithic.

We do not claim to speak for any religion, culture, or community. Our summaries are introductions, not authoritative statements. For deeper understanding, we encourage readers to consult primary sources and knowledgeable practitioners.

How AI-Generated Interpretations Work

When a user describes a dream and selects traditions, Dreamosaic uses a large language model to generate interpretations from each chosen perspective. The model is prompted to reference the tradition it is drawing from and to avoid presenting any interpretation as definitive.

AI-generated interpretations are not the same as our editorial content. They are produced in real time based on the user's specific dream description, and they may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate. We include disclaimers on every interpretation page reminding users that these are reflective perspectives, not professional advice.

For a deeper understanding of the traditions the AI draws from, see our guide to dream interpretation traditions.

Medical and Psychological Disclaimers

Dream interpretations, whether editorial or AI-generated, are not medical diagnoses, psychological evaluations, or treatment recommendations. They are intended for reflection, curiosity, cultural exploration, and entertainment.

If you are experiencing psychological distress, chronic sleep problems, or recurring nightmares that affect your wellbeing, please consult a qualified healthcare or mental health professional. Dream interpretation is not a substitute for professional care.

Content Updates and Corrections

We review Dream Library articles periodically and update them when we identify factual errors, unclear explanations, or opportunities to improve cultural accuracy. Each article displays its publication and modification dates.

If you believe an article contains an error or misrepresents a tradition, please contact us with the article URL and your reference details. Our editorial team reviews all correction requests.

Privacy and User Data

Dream descriptions submitted by users are private by default. We do not share dream content without the user's explicit action. Dream journal entries are tied to the user's account and are only visible to that user.
